I just purchased my second bottle of Bacardi 8 in Bellefonte today (while serving jury duty). My first bottle came from Casa Bacardi in San Juan, and I was sad to see it go.
Bacardi 8 is as complex as a Scotch whisky and every bit as delightful. In effort to increase my liquor snobbery, let’s try some tasting notes:
- Nose: fruit and sweet honey with pear and citrus overtones
- Taste: smooth and lightly woody with complex spices, light honey, medium bodied
- Finish: mellow sweetness
Rums aren’t generally too expensive, and I was happy to pay the $18 at the distillery as well as the $23 in Bellefonte.
Next up: Laphroaig 15
Liquor review…..very nice.
